Powerpuff Yourself / Carrot Creative
SITUATION.
Cartoon Network hired Carrot to develop a website for the reboot of Powerpuff Girls, aiming to engage a new audience. To cater to fans' long-standing interest in joining the Powerpuff Girls, we decided to include an avatar creator. With nostalgia as our ally, our main goal was to ensure everyone could express their individuality through their avatars.
SOLUTION.
Powerpuff Yourself went live worldwide, offering more than 500 different elements, resulting in over 178 quadrillion possible combinations. Our main focus was inclusivity, ensuring diverse representation with various skin tones, hairstyles, and textures to reflect different ethnicities. We didn't limit choices by gender; instead, we let the avatars speak for themselves.
SUCCESS.
A successful user-generated content (UGC) campaign needs to find the right balance between flexibility and simplicity. Powerpuff Yourself offered fans endless customization options without overwhelming them with too many features. By providing a quick and straightforward way to create unique avatars, we saw over 12 million avatars created in the first few weeks after launch.
